PS13 2006 to 2012

When the Black 180SX’s development went beyond the sweet spot I started searching for another chassis that I could put my learnings into. I found this CA18 silver over grey 1989 Nissan Silvia for sale, it seemed like a clean slate with some great modifications and I went to work.

Having a registered car that I could drive to the track was a dream, one that wouldn’t last for long.

The CA18 had some significant modifications but it just would’t make a decent amount of torque, it made good power but theres nothing better than an SR20 to provide great torque.

I ordered a set of brand new TE37’s from Japan and selected 17x9.5+12 and 17x10+18 and once I added 10mm into the rear lower control arm I found the perfect fitment.

In the quest to get low I raised the rear strut tops and tubbed the front fenders, something that I would go onto do on my 180SX.

The car was featured in both HPI and Drift Battle magazines.

In 2012 I pulled the motor and gearbox from the PS13 along with the seats and other parts to build the Hilux, this would be the last time that it had a turbo engine it. The next phase for the PS13 was an overhauled chasssis and an NA SR20 motor, something I wanted to do for a long time. More on that soon.
