KTM Flat Track Racers
The custom work continued in 2015, after making up my own Moto trailer I went on to complete more custom bikes.
I had the opportunity to run some events at my local Moto Park and we had the speedway to run flat track events.
This meant I needed a flat track bike so I decided to build one up.
The custom cafe racer was turned into a flat track bike. This meant building a new swingarm, adding some R6 forks, a new subframe, exhaust, radiator and seatpan along with a custom fuel tank.
The first test went well but the 250CC engine needed more power.
It was still a fun ride though, the dusty conditions and perfect track prep made it exciting.
I went ahead and fitted a 350cc engine from an SX-F and converted it to carby, it was an incredbly fun machine.
To this day it’s probably the peak of all the KTM’s I built but it wouldn’t be the last.

Max from Akin Moto reached out to me and wanted a KTM tracker, this time a two stroke 300cc street registered machine. I picked up a stock bike locally and went to work.
It started with a custom tank, I used an old Honda CB tank and added a substantial amount of extra capacity.
I made up anew subframe and added a new expansion chamber.
A neat sheetmetal tail section and some paint later it was ready to assemble.
This was a cool build, I sent it up to Max in Queensland and the bikes still working perfectly a decade later.
Bike’s are cool but riding them and hanging out with mates is where it’s at!
